It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, George Taylor on October 11, 2014 after a year and half long battle with cancer. George was born January 29, 1947 in Rosetown. He attended school at Howard Powell School then Rosetown High School. He enjoyed playing ball and playing clarinet in the Rosetown community band. George attended the U of R where he attained his Education Degree and later his B A from the U of S. On October 9, 1971 George married Yvonne Threinen, they were blessed with two daughters. George taught for 30 years, he taught in Francis, Odessa, Smeaton, Carrot River and his last year was in Glasgow, Scotland. George spent many hours coaching his daughters on a variety of sports teams and school teams. He loved the outdoors, many family and friends have wonderful memories of fishing with George. He also loved to golf, George was a masterful wood worker from crafting jewelry boxes to archery bows; he did beautiful work. George loved spending his time with his grandchildren and he didn’t miss a hockey game, soccer game or school concert. You could not meet a kinder man with a bigger heart. He was always willing to help. George is lovingly remembered by his wife Yvonne of 43 years, daughters Shelley (Guy), and Jeanine (Kevin), grandchildren, Taylor, Paige, Aidan, Hailey, Tristan, Bella, Ethan, and Khloe, brother Dennis (Carla), sister Carol (Ken), and numerous other family members and friends.
