<div itemprop="description">The family of Eleanor Vera Thomsen are sad to announce her peaceful passing which occurred at St. Paul’s Hospital, her family gathered together at her side. Born to parents Rudolph and Helen, she was raised in Perdue, the youngest of 8 children. Eleanor left the farm as a young lady and lived and worked in the City and Vancouver. She enjoyed Vancouver and the train ride, travelling back and forth. She left the farm and the Prairie, but it never left her, and one of her return trips brought her back to settle in Saskatoon, where she lived the rest of her life. She met and married Helmut Thomsen in 1957 and raised three children; Rick, Dorothy and Kevin. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and recently a proud great grandmother. While raising her family she became an excellent cook, baker and gardener. She was very resourceful and always found the time and a way for all else she selflessly did for her family and for others. Throughout her life she enjoyed; riding her bike, dancing, bowling and the Roughriders. She loved; reading, cats and especially kittens, feeding the birds, getting together with brothers, sisters and friends for a good game of cards, and the visiting and lunch that was always a part of it. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 59 years, Helmut; son Rick, Kyle (Luiza), Aiden, Matthew; daughter Dorothy (Bill) Neggers, Kelsey, Joel, Lindsay; son Kevin, Tygh (Katrina), Theo, Kelsey Alice; nieces, nephews, old and new friends. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents; sisters Edna (George) White, Mary (Jack) Edge; brother Edwin (Elva), Fred, Ted (Mabel), Frank (Lillian), George (Hazel). A private graveside service was held. If desired, in lieu of flowers, please give to a cause close to your own heart.</div>
