<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Shawna Rae Martens. She leaves behind her mother, Gloria (James) and her father, Marv (Sandra); sisters, Chelsey (Travis) and Michelle (Calein); nephews Micah, Koden and niece Lachlyn. Shawna is predeceased by her stepfather Ron Mills and grandfathers John Thiessen and Peter Martens. Shawna loved life. She was spunky, sassy, full of vim and vinegar. She was creative, athletic, with a keen sense of humor. Her laughter was infectious. She held an intuition, kindness and insight of situations and people. Shawna had the benefit of being a part of large extended families. She enjoyed gathering with her cousins and relatives. Shawna considered becoming “an aunt” the best gift. She loved family weddings, visiting, dancing and laughing the night away. Shawna appreciated those she lived and worked with in the Elmwood Residences community as well as Cosmopolitan Industries. Shawna was a precious soul and will be deeply missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Shawna’s life will be held at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd) on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Elmwood Residences (2012 Arlington Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7J 2H5) or Cosmopolitan Industries (28 – 34th St East, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3Y2) . Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.hillcrestmemorial.ca Arrangements entrusted to Basil Forsberg.</div>
