<div itemprop="description">Michael Grisdale Sr., beloved husband of the late Verna Grisdale of Pike Lake, passed away at St. Paul’s Hospital on November 18, 2016 at the age of 72. <br><br>He was the loving father of Michael (Jackie), Eric (Gillian), Lilian and Caroline and grandchildren Ruby and Simone. Michael is survived by his brother, Mark (Anne) of England. He will also be lovingly remembered by Norine Mann. Michael was predeceased by his wife, Verna; his parents, John Eric and Lilian; and a sister, Judith. <br><br>Michael was a seasoned police officer starting his career as a Bobby in Newcastle, England before following family to Canada where he settled and served the citizens of Saskatoon for 32 years. Michael & Verna eventually made their home in the Pike Lake area where they embraced acreage life and the many friendships that came with living in a tight-knit community. Friends and family will dearly miss the ridiculously large meals and BBQ’s held & prepared under his watchful eye. Michael was known for staying in touch with almost everyone that came into his life and was a loyal friend to many, many people both near and far and will be truly missed. <br><br>A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd). Donations in memory of Michael may be made directly to St. Paul’s Palliative Care (1702-20th St West, Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9).</div>
