With sadness, Alain’s family announces his passing on December 25, 2013. He was born in Montreal on July 9, 1953. In 1972 he joined the military and in 1973 went to Egypt on Peacekeeping duties. After retiring from the military he had several jobs and finally landed a job at Adesa Auctions, where he felt welcomed and at home.
Alain will be missed deeply by his wife of 40 years, Carol, his sons Dereck and Steven (Demetra), and his grandchildren, Olivia, Kaitlyn, Kennedy, Keely-shae and Bradley. He will also be missed by his mother Kathryn, his brothers Michael, Patrick, Daniel and Paul as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alain was predeceased by his father Palma Alex Dionne.
Alains’ family would like to extend a special thank you to the Home Care Nurses and the staff at St Paul’s Palliative Care.
Donations in Alain’s memory may be made to Saskatoon Home Care – Palliative Care, (201 – 310 Idylwyld Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7L 0Z2).
The Celebration of Alain’s life will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 2 pm at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd). Online condolences may be sent from www.hillcrestmemorial.ca Arrangements entrusted to Paula Olson.
