Bohdan (Bob) Zadworny, beloved husband of Stephanie (Stella) Zadworny, passed away at his family home on January 27, 2017 at the age of 94 years.

He was born on the family farm near Alvena, SK on January 26, 1923 to Michael and Katherine Zadworny. He was raised in a family of four children. At the age of 17 he joined the Canadian Armed forces in support of the WWII effort and was a war veteran. Thereafter he became a school teacher (B.A. and B.Ed.) teaching high school for over 30 years. He had a tender spirit to which students were drawn; the students “loved and respected Mr. Zadworny”. His favorite subject was history and he enjoyed teaching history to his students. He also enjoyed travelling in general including trips to Europe and the Far East with his wife Stella. Bob loved farming and after retiring from teaching he farmed until 2009 when he was no longer able. Bob loved Stella very much and they were on the cusp of celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in July 2017. Bob was a wonderful father who promoted and inspired his six children. He was very strict on the subject of education requiring his children earn university degrees. He was a very kind and generous man and we will miss him very much.

He was predeceased by his mother Katherine and father Michael Zadworny, a brother Andrew, a sister Olga Tratch and a sister Marie Kindrachuk. He was the loving father of Darlene Olson of Saskatoon, SK, Irene Suriano of Lethbridge, AB, MaryAnn Principe of Saskatoon, SK, William Bohdan Zadworny of Sherwood Park, AB, Christine Smith of Edmonton, AB and Patricia Winarsky of Pike Lake, SK. He will also be dearly missed by his 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, February 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church (1202 - 11th Street East. Saskatoon, Saskatchewan S7H 0G3) with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd). Donations in Bob’s name may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church.

Vichnaya pamiat Memory Eternal.
