<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that the family of Anne (Alice) Miller announces her passing on May 23, 2017. Alice is survived by her daughters Etta (Lyle) Evans of Sundrie, AB and Tanis (Kevin) Kochan of rural Saskatoon; grandchildren Dean (Clancy) Evans, Jessica Evans, Joshua Kochan, Dylan Kochan and Kyle Kochan. Mom was predeceased by her grandson Todd Evans. Alice is also survived by great-grandchildren Ethan Evans, Bryn Evans and Jonah Evans; brother Francis Franks; sister Marie Howell and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born to Frank and Marie Franks on July 28, 1933 at Beauval, SK. She attended the girls convent in North Battleford and completed her high school in Carrot River, SK. Upon graduation she attended Saskatoon Business College and completed a secretarial course, landing her first job with Canada Mortgage and Housing. In 1954 she married Harold Miller and together they farmed for more than 30 years in the Floral area southeast of Saskatoon. Upon our father’s death in 1987, Mom continued their farming tradition. She was truly in her element, being with nature, on the farm. Over the years, she enjoyed a close relationship with her sister-in-law Lynn Franks. Together they enjoyed working on needlepoint, dancing and just plain visiting! Mom also had a great love for children and always looked for any opportunity to spend with them. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives will be forever richer because of the time spent with their “Granny Fox”. At the time of her passing, Mom was living at Prairie Lane Dementia Unit at the Sherbrooke Nursing Home. Although the illness stole some of her memories, it could never stifle her great snappy humour or her gentle kindness and empathy for others. As a family, we wish to thank the great staff on the dementia unit at Sherbrooke for their kindness and for allowing Mom to be the best “Alice” she could be. A celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Monday, May 29, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd). Donations in Alice’s memory may be made to the Prairie Lane Dementia Unit, Sherbrooke Nursing Home (401 Acadia Drive, Saskatoon, SK S7H 2E7). Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.hillcrestmemorial.ca Arrangements entrusted to Lisa Bos.</div>
