<div itemprop="description">Mary Ann passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on December 14, 2015. Mary Ann was born in Scotland on February 19, 1920. She was the first of four children to John and Jesse Cumming. On March 6, 1925 at the age of five, Mary Ann and her family came to Canada and settled in the Harris and Bents area of Saskatchewan. She attended Bare Hills and Ailsa Craig schools. Mary Ann loved outdoor sports and was very involved in softball. She married Frank Garner on October 11, 1939 and had five children: Tom Garner (Predeceased in 1994), Ken Garner (Rosemary), Linda Romphf (Barney), Wayne Garner (Eunice) and Rita Bentley (Barry). In 1963, Mary Ann joined the Eastern Star and became Worthy Matron. In 1965, she moved with her daughter, Rita to Saskatoon and worked at the Royal University Hospital in the Central Supply Area. In 1979, she married Carl Basler and became part of a very large loving family. She is survived also by her sister Vi Morris (Ray), 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers John Cumming and George Cumming and two grandsons, Roland and Gerald. Mary Ann was a very loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will live on in her family forever. Donations in Mary Ann&rsquo;s memory may be made to the Saskatoon Children&rsquo;s Hospital (#1 &ndash; 345 3rd Ave S, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1M6). A Celebration of Mary Ann&rsquo;s Life will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th St, first right past Briargate Rd).
