<div itemprop="description">James was born in Tiger Hills, Saskatchewan on July 27, 1927 and went to school in Hagen, SK. He helped his dad farm until 1948 when he went to cut pulp wood in Ontario. In 1949 he went to work for AJ McRae Contracting and in 1950, he started working for SaskPower, where he worked for 33 years until he retired. <br>Jim had a love for music and played fiddle with the Silver Strings and Outcast fiddle groups. He left family and friends many wonderful memories of fiddle music and jam sessions in the living room.<br>Jim married Dorothy Fensom November 28, 1959 and lived in Regina where Laura and Fay were born and in 1969 they moved to Saskatoon.<br>Jim was predeceased by his parents Christian and Laurella Thingelstad, Art and Elizabeth Fensom, his brother Glen Thingelstad and brothers-in-law Harold Fensom, Warner Willness and niece Colleen Rode.<br>Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 57 years Dorothy, daughters Laura and Fay, granddaughters Charli, Sara, Jennifer, Autumn and Cannel; sisters Sylvia Willness, Linda (Howard) Rode and sisters-in law Clara Thingelstad, Linda (Don) Swinburnson, Pat Fensom and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.<br></div>
