Bessie Cowan
December 31, 1927 - February 25, 2017
Bess Cowan passed away on February 25, 2017 at St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 89 years.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Terri) and Ronaye; grandsons, Jeremy (Teresa), Dustin (Whitney), Nathan (Mary), Jayden (Stephanie); 9 great grandchildren and her sister, Margaret. Bess was predeceased by her husband, Bruce and son-in-law, Lance.
Bess loved to garden and made spectacular pies that were enjoyed by all - her Saskatoon pie was always a big hit! In later years, she became an avid reader, pouring over books and her daily paper. Keeping up with current events was a matter of pride. She greatly enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Each visit left her with a cute story to tell.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Palisades for their daily care and attention at the Intermediary Care unit during her last two years and to the Doctors and Nursing staff on 5th Floor and Flex Care Unit 2 at St. Paul's Hospital for their kind and compassionate care of Mom in her last days.
A private family service was held.
Memorial donations in Bess’ honour may be made directly to the Saskatchewan Kinsmen Telemiracle (2217C Hanselman Court, Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8).
